Notice to Village Residents & Businesses

The U.S. Postal Service

…recently changed how frequently mail is transported to regional processing centers where postmarks are applied. As a result, some mail may no longer receive a postmark dated the same day it is dropped off or collected, which could be problematic for time-sensitive filings and payments. Village paying customers can still ensure a same-day postmark by requesting a free manual postmark at a USPS retail counter.

Alternatively, Village Residents & Businesses can pay their Taxes, Sewer Invoices, Building Permits and more online OR in-person on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9AM-4PM and Wednesday from 9AM-3PM. Pathfinder Bank at 3025 East Ave also accepts payments for village taxes and sewer rents.

October-December 2024 Newsletter

October - December Newsletter Central Square, NY

From the desk of Randy House - Mayor

The DPW has been picking up leaves and small-size brush to help the Village remain clean and keep debris from  entering catch basins and ditches.

Project Bloom had some rained out “Concerts in the Park”, but I hope you had a chance to enjoy the free concerts. Our annual Christmas tree lighting will be held on December 8th at 5:30 PM in Goettel Park.

Code Enforcement

Please contact Ed Cusato, Codes Officer, at 315-243-9568 for all building permits or code enforcement complaints as well as any questions on permits. Lawn upkeep is essential to prevent pests and drainage issues.

From the desk of George McCormick - DPW Supervisor

REMINDER: “flushable” wipes can NOT be disposed of into the sewer. Violation of our village law can carry up  to a $1,000 fine per incident.

Brush pickup began in September. Keep brush and leaf piles separate without thorns, stones or animal feces. You  will find updates on the digital sign outside the Village Offices. GRASS CLIPPINGS will not be picked up. Please  keep storm drains, catch basins and ditches clear to allow for proper drainage.

Snow season is coming…allow extra time to arrive safely. Watch for plows and residents clearing their driveways.
